The song featured in the show is by William de Vaughn titled, "Be thankful for what you've got"!  It features our very own Earl Young playing the drums!
In his teenage years he wanted to do two things, design cars for General Motors and the Ford motor company
and play drums professionally like Earl. Growing up on Philly music would be a very important part of his life.
He used it for background music when drawing and studying. In high School he romanticize his girlfriends
with Thom Bell's ballads and jammed for hours in his parents basement playing along with Earl Young and
MFSB on his drum set.

EARL YOUNG
EARL YOUNG
As Earl recalls, He and the late Teddy Pendergrass use to ride the
streets of Philly as a two man car show- showing off their Rolls Royce's
Cheerio! Here's a grand old chap opening the door to his very
own 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow.
Earl Young Introduces Danny Whitfield,
year old Danny learn to play drums exactly the way Earl did, on (pots-pans-grits boxes) and his mom's
discarded sofa. He had been following Earl since 1972.
At age 20 he ended up doing what he set out to do. Attending a creative college in Detroit he became a successful artist, auto designer, stylist and
played drums professionally for local bands and churches in Detroit Michigan. He vowed in 1972 one day before he die he would meet his idol.
Well god had to be listening because low and behold 38 years later, HE FINALLY MET EARL YOUNG! Like Earl they share so much in common
with multi-talent abilities and a love for cars.
